Break

Let me start off by saying that I did not realize how long I was away from blogging. Once the school year really got to going, it became a very busy life.  So now I am back and I hope to continue blogging on a weekly basis.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. My family and I had a wonderful one. I hope to be able to post about Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas through out the upcoming week.

While on the blogging break, Kent was finally able to start pre-k. He did so great for about the first month and a half. Then he got sick and was out for a week and not long after that, they was out for a week to celebrate Thanksgiving. Since then, he has had a very hard time adjusting back to routine. Here are some pictures of his first day.

It's so hard to believe that he will be starting Kindergarten next year!

This was the same week that the girls had homecoming at school. I will share just a few of the photos from that week.

This was supposed to be neon/bright color day.

I couldn't seem to get a decent picture of Dallas this day.

This was spirit day.

Enough of the pictures for now...

The girls have been doing really well in school. Dallas made her first "B" this year and it broke her heart. Keep in mind that she is only in third grade. Stephanie has been doing 100% better compared to the past few years. Sixth grade is a challenge for sure, but she is fighting tooth and nail with it. I am so proud of how well they are doing.

I might as well throw Halloween in this post.

So for Halloween, a local town does a thing called "Treats on the Streets". Local businesses for a 2-3 stretch closes down early and the roads get shut down for a few hours so that kids can trick or treat there. It is really fun and really safe. I think most all the kids have more fun walking in the middle of street than actually getting some candy. Afterwards, we went to the town that we lived in and went to a couple of churches. By the time we got there they didn't have much candy left, so we decided to head on home for the evening. On our way home, we spotted a few houses that had several trick or treaters. We stopped and let the kids join in on the fun. We also noticed then that several cars was going in and out of a local sub division. Lets just say that when we left there, the kids had enough candy to last the whole year. I ended up throwing most of the candy away.

Stephanie was an 80's kid, Dallas was a competition cheerleader, and Kent was Big Al(Roll Tide)

This same week, Kent's class painted pumpkins for their monthly craft day. He had so much fun!

That's all for this post. Until next time!

What I'm Lovin' Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I have lots that I am loving this week.

Dallas had gotten some flowers from Steph for her birthday back in April. Steph had saved up all the change that she found laying around the house to buy it for Dallas. To be honest I thought they would have been dead within the first two weeks. Months later they are still alive and just so beautiful. That was the best 0.89 cents that was spent on a gift.

When the flower starts die, you break it off and let them dry out to use the seeds in them. Well, one day, we just left it in the pot and a few weeks later we noticed another plant was growing. So now there is two of them!

I'm lovin' how I have scored some GREAT deals on some shoes/sandals this week for the girls. I went to Shoe Show (the only shoe store in the county) and got Steph 2 pairs of sandals for $15! Then I headed over to a local boutique/gift shop and got Dallas a pair of Yellow Box flip flops for $11. They was regular price at $22. Can't beat that. I scored some more deals this week as well, but I will wait to share until they are delivered.

I am lovin' my wooded country yard. Sometimes I think otherwise..like when I'm cutting grass with the push mower or I have to pick up all the rocks that have mysteriously appeared since the last time. Life seems to be at a slower pace in the country.

Home grown and hand picked pears! Maybe I can get my mom to make us some pear butter.

And of course, no post of mine would be complete without these 3 sweet kids!

Welcome back to School (Miscellany Monday)

I am linking up here.

It's that time again. My kids are back at school. What about yours?

This post will be more of a picture dump than anything else. Enjoy the pictures and at the end I will share my thoughts about all this.

Isn't this back pack just the cutest ever! Steph has one just like it, but her initials are in purple. She didn't want to have the exact same as Dallas.

Sorry that they are not in the order that I took them in.

I can not believe that my girls are in 6th and 3rd grade! Dallas got annoyed with me that I walked her to class, but she is still young enough that I can do so. There is a lot of excitement this year. The school is completed as far as construction goes. It was too busy to get a picture this morning, but here is what it looked like a year ago. Including other pictures from the first day of school. the girls have grown so much since then.

They both got the teachers they wanted! Steph has her kindergarten teacher. It's a neat little story to go along with this...Her teacher is Mrs.Hudson and when Steph had her in kindergarten, she was expecting her first child that fall and it was her second year to teach. Well this year(5 years later) she is expecting baby number 2 in the fall as well. It's also her second year to teach 6th grade. How neat is that. Her oldest is also starting kindergarten! So with the coincidence of that, I cried the whole way home. My girls aren't so little anymore...

With that being said, parents of toddlers/pre-schoolers, cherish this time that you have with them. Take lots or pictures and allow them to be little as long as you can. Before you know it, they will be in middle school or even high school. The school age years go by fast and before you know it, they are just a mere memory with pictures.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Tasty Treat Thursday

I'm linking up with Mallorie and Allie for a Tasty Treat Thursday. I am looking forward to doing this every week. I mean, who doesn't love food?

YOURNAME

Today's recipe is going to be my Cream Cheese Spread.
So here we go!

Two 8oz packages of softened cream cheese(You can use more or less to suit your needs)
Green olives with the red pimentos in the middle(I used about a palm full, but you can use more or less to how you like)
Pecans or any other nut of your choice(I used about the same amount as the olives)
Wickle relish

Directions:
Mix the softened cream cheese in a bowl so it's not in it's original form.
Chop the olives to how you like(I did a fine chop)
Crush/chop the pecans to how you like as well(I did a semi-fine)
Combine all the ingredients together with a few stirs/folds until it's all combined together.
Spread on top of your favorite cracker and top with Wickle relish.

I know this is on fattening side, but it is so tasty. It's all in moderation..Right?

Happy Wednesday Y'all!

I hope everyone of you has had a great week so far!

Today I am linking up with Jamie. Click here to come along

I am loving Dallas' new hair bows for school. She hasn't had any new ones bought for her in almost a year, so it was time for some new ones.

I made some yummy and a little unhealthy snacks today. Let me you though, they are super yummy. The first was a simple broccoli salad. The second one is a creme cheese dip with green olive and pecans in it. You spread it on a cracker then top it off with some wickle relish. It's oh so good and both are super easy to make.

Tomorrow is "Meet the Teacher". The girls and I are all giddy and anxious about who they will have this year. It is also open house to the public for everyone to see the "new" school. It was completed last year, but they wanted to get everything from landscaping to the parking lot finished. It is going to be busy, that's for sure!

The girls had their yearly check up yesterday. As always, they are perfect! Dallas is 4ft 1in and 36lbs. Steph has grown a lot since last years check up. She has gained 19lbs and grew 6in. That puts her at 92lbs and 5ft 1/2in. She only has 3 1/2in before she is the same as me. And she's only in 6th grade! For some reason, they never showed me Dallas' growth chart. Maybe because it was a student doctor. Oh well, they are healthy happy girls and that's all that matters.

While we was at the doctor, she took a look at Kent. I mentioned that we have noticed for some time now that his left eye will go cross eyed when you take a close up photo or he is really concentrating hard on something. She said it could be a number of things from nothing to something. So therefor she is sending him to a pediatric optometrist to have him checked out. His yearly check up is coming up soon. So if you don't mind, pray for him.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and weekend that's coming up!

The last Monday (Of summer)

Me oh my, it has been a while since I posted. Today is the last Monday of summer vacation. It has been a good and lazy summer, but we are all ready for school to start back.

I am linking up with Carissa right here.

On Friday night, Steph had her basketball party. FINALLY! She needed some time to see her friends from school and what a better way to spend than swimming?

Steph got about $30 for her birthday so she used half of it to get her a game for the Kinect. She recieved it today and it was the perfect day to get it. Especially since it was raining most all day. She rocked it! This will help her get a little more prepared for JV try outs in the spring.

On Saturday I received the free custom canvas painting from Aunt Bee's Custom Canvas. I absolutely love it!

Ba da ba ba ba - I'm Lovin ' It

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I'm linking up with Jamie here.

We spent about half the day at the eye doctor. This was Dallas' first
time to go, and she thought it was cool that she got them sunglasses you get after they dilate your eyes.

(via phone- not the best quality)

I found a facebook giveaway here for some super cute ties for the
little guy in my life. Hopefully our winning streak will continue and I'll win th
is one as well.
How cute are these!

Tomorrow at about 1pm will mark 11 years when I went into my 18 hour long labor with Steph. These years have flown by. I can't wait to celebrate
her birthday on Friday with family and then her
party the next weekend.
Here are a few of pictures of her when she was little and her party from last year.

I am also loving this sweet little boy who will be 4 in about 10 days!
