A Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

This past Friday my nephew graduated from high school. It has been the first graduation that I had been to in a while. It was bitter sweet. Our family has half a generation of kids that now has their own family or is in college. The other half is still in elementary school..Which two of those kids would be mine. With that being said, the next grandchild to graduate will be my Stephanie. Thank goodness I still have several years to prepare for that.

School is almost out for summer!! Most all the parents at our school is not making their kids come to school on Thursday..I am not one of them. I feel like they should complete the school year out even though we have been given permission to miss and not be counted against us. This is the last few days for Steph's teacher before she retires; so I feel like Steph should enjoy the last few days with her and make some memories while doing so.

Dallas, just wants to go because she loves her teacher so much, that she has even asked if she could move in with her. Not seriously though! Dallas told me she wasn't going to 2nd grade unless she gets to have the same teacher this year. Well, I have news for her..She HAS to go to 2nd grade.

Speaking of next school year--I have to write and send the letter of request for their teachers next year!.... I want Dallas to have the teacher that I had for 2nd grade considering she's the only teacher left at the school that Dallas would have a chance of having. As for Steph, I want her to have a hard teacher. It may sound crazy, but Steph is one of the kids that needs someone to push her at all times, but also understanding and sensitive at the same time. Steph has struggeled this year, but her teacher pushed and showed her that she can do a whole lot more if she really puts her mind to it. All in all, I am excited for summer break soon, but sad that my babies will be another grade higher in school..They grow up too fast!

I am LOVING my new/gently used Yellowbox flip flops that I got from the thrift store the other day. I usually don't buy shoes from there, but these still had the logo on the heel. Which means that they were not worn much.

My dad is in the process of opening his pool. He is a few weeks late on it this year, but he has been so busy that he just has not had the time until now. I can't wait to spend our summer days in the pool getting a lovely tan on!

What I'm Lovin'

Field Day:

This past Friday was field day at school. It was a cloudy and windy day..which made for a good time! Unfortunately, it started lightening before we could finish :(

I had Kent with me at first, but he threw some terrible tantrums. Thankfully, I have great parents who live just right down the road from the school. Dallas got third place in the sack race (check photos below)

Dallas also competed in the balloon toss. I was a little worried about this. Why? She has played t-ball before, but was not very good at catching or throwing. Her partner plays softball and is very well at it. Watch the pictures below!

They got first place!!

Thrift Store Shopping!!

Robert and I went shopping today and I was really pleased to find what I found at the one we went to. I usually don't find a whole lot of good stuff, but today I felt like I hit the jackpot! I found THREE pairs of Yellowbox flip flops for me at the bargain price of 2.99 a pair!! I also found Dallas a really cute brown and hot pink tutu skirt with matching leggins' for 1.50! She is wearing it next week on awards day; where she will be recieving...the GOOD CITIZENSHIP award!

Don't forget to link up! :]

A Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

And in fact it has been a very long awaited one..!

Let me start off saying that this is my first post in weeks! The tornados that ripped through Alabama caused to be without power for at least FIVE days! But we are well. We are blessed!

a. Remember me mentioning a while back about planting flowers? Well, they are growing and I can't wait for them to turn into mature flowers!

b. Since Tide Loads of Hope has been helping the state of Alabama out ALOT, I am now forever going to use Tide for all my clothes washing needs!

c. My sweet sweet Dallas had her 7th birthday on April 26th! I can't believe how fast time flies when you are loving life! I am proud to be her mommy. She is such a smart girl that doesn't let her speech problem get in the way. We didn't do a "party" for her this year..instead we took her out to eat to the place of her choice..Pizza Hut! We let her open her presents there and she loved them all. She really loved the cowgirl boots she got. She will be wearing them when I get the chance to take her birthday pictures. It seems that the location is a problem and why I haven't done them yet :-/

She was not about looking at the camera when I brought birthday cupcakes to her and her class.
