What I'm lovin'

This is probably going to be very random and short.

Here is what I am loving today!

I got a scale Monday and weighed in at 249 lbs. Yesterday morning when I weighed in, I was at 245 lbs! 4 lbs down in one day. Woohoo!! Something I am not thrilled about though, is I only lost half a pound as of this morning. It was certainly very discouraging.

I am loving how the seasons are getting closer to spring time. My two favorite seasons are fall and spring.

The girls have their first basketball game of the season this Saturday. This is Steph's last year to play in rec league. Then it will be on to jr. high sports.

I have such a great support system while doing the HCG diet. You can follow my journey here. Robert will be starting his loading days on Feb. 1 and I can't wait until we can do it together and make it a little competitive. I have decided to stick on phase two a little longer just to help him get used to it and be his support.

We got Steph's pageant dress last week or the week before and it is beautiful! I can not wait until we get into pageant season full swing.

You can join along and link up with Jamie here.

I'm a notch in your bedpost and you're just a line in a song...

Completely random title, but I wanted to break away from the typical "Miscellany Monday" thing. I am still linking up with Carissa though!

I started the HCG diet last week. I am currently on round 1 phase 2 day 4(R1PH2D4) and it's not as hard as I thought it would be. I am still trying to find HCG approved recipes while on the 500 calorie phase of it. I have started a weight loss blog to document my journey. You can find it here.

We had a lazy weekend around here. We only went one place the whole entire 2 days and oh my was it nice for a change! I was able to get so much cleaning done that I started to get bored once I was all done and there was nothing on tv. The kids and I played outside some played games and just had some quality family time. The weekend is also our last free weekend for about 2 months. The girls basketball games start on Feb. 2---eek!

I had an unexpected DIY item yesterday. You can read all about it here. I am so pleased with how it turned out. I've got to find some more easy peasy DIY items!

I got the girls pictures this weekend from last weekends photo shoot. I am so happy with how they turned out!

I absolutely love the pictures. There was so many more, but these are my favorites.

Kent will be next and I am thinking about taking him to the UNA campus to have his done. That is where the photographer goes to college at and they have real lions there that he can see.

Happy Monday everyone! Don't forget to link up!

Sunday afternoon DIY

I am really happy about this unexpected DIY that I did. So one thing that I love about where we are living at the moment is the light fixtures, but I hated the glass globes/covers. They was this horrible yellowish/dirty color and they did not give off much light at all. I could have all 3 lights turned on in the kitchen and it still was not bright enough. But not too long ago I was looking through some empty cabinets that I had never looked in all the 2 1/2 years that we have lived here and I found some clear ones. I was so excited once I put them on the fixture that they fit. They gave off so much light and they just had a clean crisp look to them. Then I hated how I didn't have matching ones and started to talk about getting ones to match. Maybe 2 a month until we had what we needed. So today I wanted to wash them for some reason and as I was doing so I reminded Robert of my plans for buying some new ones. As I was drying them off really good with a towel I noticed that the yellow coating was coming off and underneath it looked just like the clear ones I had. I immediately got ecstatic! So I thought about what would work to take it off and found just what I needed. So here it goes....

I found that nail polish remover wiped it off with little to no scrubbing at all and it didn't take much at remover at all. I ended up running out and had to use some Awesome, but with that I had to scrub.

Before

Final product of the last one that I did. I used the Awesome and  a two sided kitchen sponge. Such a huge difference! I will finish it when I get more nail polish remover.

Final product of one that nail polish remover was used on.  Please ignore the terrible popcorn ceiling. One day I will be a home owner and will have the option to NOT have such an ugly thing.

I am so excited at how all of them turned out. It definitely kept me busy to where I wasn't hungry or thought about food.

By the way, I have started the HCG diet and it's going GREAT so far. You can look at the top of this page and click on the weight loss tab to follow my journey.

What I'm lovin' Wednesday

Today I am linking up with Jamie. It's been a while since I have linked up with her. I have so much to be thankful for.

  • My area of Alabama is predicted to get at least 1 inch of snow. Kent is at the age that to talk of snow makes him excited.

  • My mom was able to buy Stephanie's pageant dress for her this year. And it's official, she is no longer in a little girl size. She picked out a very beautiful strapless gown. I will be glad to share pictures of her dress after the pageant.

  • 90's country radio on Pandora. There is something about the music that I grew up listening to is much better than today's stuff.

  • I started a diet on Monday and this morning I was able to pull my jeans down without having to unbutton them. That has not happened in a long time. Maybe I am daydreaming, but it has definitely kicked me into full diet mode. Maybe I can get the courage to workout soon.

  • It is so nice not having a car payment. Of course my car is several years older than what most people drive, but not having to pay a lot for full coverage or even a car payment is so nice. Anything to save money is perfectly fine with me.

Sorry for such a random post. They are certainly things that I am loving today!

It's a Roll Tide kind of Monday

miscellany monday at lowercase letters

Today is THE day! My favorite college football team is playing for the National Championship. My newsfeed on facebook has been over flowing with "Roll Tide" and many other things cheering on the Crimson Tide. I have been waiting for this game for a very long time. Not just because Alabama is playing for the title for a 2nd year in a row, but because they are playing Notre Dame. My dads side of the family is about 40 minutes or less from South Bend and are very big Irish fans.

I was going through Steph's iPod last night and came across this video. I love this little boy so much! It's hard to believe that he will be 5 on his next birthday!

In honor of today's big game, the girls wore some of their new Alabama apparel to school.

I was trying to organize the photos, but it obviously didn't turn out like I hope for. I'll get the hang of blogging again.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. From my family to yours- ROLL TIDE!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving wasn't much of a big to do this year. We only had one place to go to for the first time in years. Let me just say that it was so nice to not go all over the country that day!

It started out that we woke up and watched that Macy's Thanksgiving parade. Well, the kids did and I got my cooking done. Stephanie had to go to her dads for their lunch, and like some ex couples there was a little bit of drama. We had supper at my parents and my brother and his family was there along with my cousin and his family. Robert couldn't make it over until he got off work. That was about 6:00 if I had to guess. Like I said, it was a very lazy Thanksgiving, but it was time to have one after all these years of running the roads.

This year was the first time my mom has gone shopping on Black Friday. It wasn't my first, but it had been nine years since the last time I went shopping. We waited until about 11 that morning go out. There was no way I was going to get out in all that early morning crowd. Or even on Thanksgiving night. Thanksgiving is the time to spend with family, not shopping. Anyways, my mom actually enjoyed the late Black Friday shopping. Maybe a little more than I did! Although most all the deals was over, I did manage to get a few movies for Robert for $1. One of them was "The Hangover" which completed his "Hangover" collection.

All in all, Thanksgiving was great this year! I hope yours was as well!!
