WILW

I'm linking up with Jamie right here!

Is it Wednesday already?! This week has gone by faster than it usually seems.

Here's what I'm loving today::

Today marks the last two weeks of school. I am excited but a little sad at the same time. This year has been bitter sweet. None the less, I am ready to sleep in 6 days a week.

 I have managed to grow our tomato plants good enough to produce 2 tomatos on each!

 Our first lily of the year is getting ready to bloom!

 Our corn that we germinated in a jar! Even if it doesn't produce any ears, the kids have still enjoyed watching the stages of growth.

Dallas' flower that she got for her birthday from Steph. I'm loving that we have managed to make it live this long.

Weekend Rewind

I am linking up with Tami here for the first time ever!

Since I have been slacking on taking photos, this is going to be a little dull and boring.

Friday::

We slept in because there was no school!!

Kent and I stayed home while Daddy went to get Dallas from Grandma and Papa's.(she loves it when she can stay the night. Maybe because she can get away with everything and get what she wants?)

Daddy and Dallas brought home some lunch from Jack's,(a local fastfood chain here in the south[Alabama])

We play Kinect Sports for a while and then did some work on our tomato and corn plants.

Dallas and I had some girl time while Daddy and Kent took a nap.

And then after nap time, we descided to find somewhere to eat for dinner. So we drove to Arab to try something new. We ate a little Chinese place. It was okay, but I would have been happier with our usual Chinese.

I did a little bit of spreading the word out to get people to vote for the kids in a facebook photo contest to win 2 appliqued shirts.

Saturday::

The kids and  I enjoyed some Saturday morning shows while eating breakfeast in front of the tv(for once!)

 Did a little cleaning. Well I actually did some laundry while Dallas and Kent picked up the mess they made during the week.

We went to my parents house and grilled out and enjoyed some family time. My mom made her awesome baked beans and potato salad while we was in charged of the meat.

Then when we got home, Robert had to go to his sisters to cut grass. Even though it was about 30 minutes before it got dark.

I did little more of spreading the word to get the kids some more votes in the contest.

Then we played the xbox until about 1 in the morning.

Sunday::

Robert had to go back to work, and I was filling in for my previous employer so the other employees could go to a wedding....

So I took Dallas and Kent to my parents house on my way. My mom made homade cinnamin rolls that was just DELISH!

I worked from 10-5:15.....We got SO busy during lunch!

I walked over to Robert's work and talked to him and his boss for a few minutes.

Then there was a delimma with Steph and the ipod. But we fixed it.

I was so tired from working, that I had to sit around at my parents for a little while.

Then when we got home, the kids went to sleep and I soaked in the bath tube for a while.

By 9:15, I was sound asleep!

Not much of a fun weekend, but sometimes it's good to have a lazy weekend.

Vote for Kent's photo here! "like" the photo for your vote to count. Voting ends at 5PM centeral time today!

Confessional Friday

Link up with Leslie for a Confessional Friday!

1.Since Robert has changed jobs this week and he doesn't start his new one until Sunday, I have been able to sleep in this week.

2.I have been buying a little too much to get our house nicely decorated.

3.We don't live in a actual "house". Most see it as a mobile home, but I see it as a home!

4.My neighbors loud exhaust systems and music is really starting to annoy me.

5.I am on the countdown until the last day of school. May 23, hurry up!!!

6.I have a bit of an obsession for appliqued shirts. So much that I have the kids in a photo contest to win them 2 free shirts of their choice. So follow the links below for each of my three CUTEST KIDS EVER! and vote for them. You must "like" the photo on Polka Dots and Flip Flops fb page.

Dallas

Kent

Steph

7.I have been hooked on sweet tea a little more than I can ever remember being. Those who know, know that Dr.Pepper is usually my drink of choice.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

***Don't forget to go vote for them!!

What I'm Lovin'

You should link up with Jamie right here

weather
I am loving this crazy Alabama weather. Right now at about 11:30PM, I have the windows open and letting the fresh spring like breeze in. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if we have tornado threats sometime soon..well just because it is Alabama.

clothes,clothes, & more clothes
I have been doing some second hand shopping for Kent here lately. I didn't realize how low he was getting on clothes. I was able to find brands such as GAP, Children's Place, Osh Kosh, POLO, and many more for either in exchange for some of the girls clothes that they don't wear anymore or less than 2.00 a piece. you can't beat that now can you? These aren't all of them because he has worn some of the items before I was able to get a picture of them all.
-He also got some new jammies that he wanted to wear tonight- I may not ever get them off him ;-)

boutique
I also did some actual online retail therapy for all 3 kids. Even though my mom has an emboirdery machine, she isn't that big into it yet. So I go to a friend of mine that owns her own home business doing this stuff. She just lives down the road so I don't have to pay shipping. Check out her facebook page @ Polka Dots and Flip Flops

-I spent a total of $161 (I know that's alot) but I got 5 shirts and 2 pairs of shorts for Kent, a tote basket and a beach towel for Steph, and a shirt and beach towel for Dallas. And they come with monogramming if you want.-

oh baby
On Valentines Day, my family welcomed in a new member to the world. My niece(more of like sister to me) had her 2nd child/first girl. Her name would so happen to be Kenlee Danielle Ray. She is just absolutely beautiful. I can't wait until I can go to Bibb County next month to see her. I have already bought her a few bows and a bow holder for her. The b&w pictures are compliments of KarenFordPhotography

I love the picture of her sticking her tongue out. She does have her mommy's attitude!

the dress
We found Dallas' pageant dress on Saturday!!

shoes
I got me some "new" Yellowbox sandals the other day for again, a great price.

he's gone counrty
Robert got a "new" truck on Friday. I have been trying for years to get him to get a truck. So Friday night, he came home from work in this "new to us" truck. It's a '98 z71, but at least we don't have any car payments :-)

Happy Wednesday!

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursdays Button

{a}
Light colored wall paint. Before this color, my laundry room was Tangerine Orange. It was pretty, but not for my tiny laundry room. So with new paint and decorations, I have a "new" laundry room that is bright, cheery, and inviting. I actually enjoy doing laundry now! Oh, and the peice of wood with clothes pins on it is a pinterest find that is for lost socks.

{b}
Valetines was pretty good this year. Although I had to spend most of the morning at the doctors office, I got spend the evening with my husband and 3 amazing kids. We went to eat at O'Charleys, well because it's one of my favorite places and kids get to eat FREE! On top of that, our waitress didn't chrage us for the kids drinks, or our soup & desert upgrade! I didn't get anything but hugs and kisses and the 3 sweet words "I love you", but that's the best gift I could have recieved though.

{c}
This weekend is a 3 day weekend! I think most everyone around here is pretty excited about it. I know I am just because I have a busy weekend ahead of me that includes Saturday going to the UAB/Tulane basketball game with 3 basketball teams! I'm not sure if the thought of being around that many kids at one time gets me a little antsy or if it's the drive to downtown Birmingham in the dark not knowing where to go. Either way, it's going to be fun because I will be with my kids and they will be with their friends.

{d}
The girls pageant is coming up at school in a few weeks and we already have got Steph fitted in her dress, but we are still looking for Dallas. We have a few choices in mind for her, but finding the right color that doesn't make her look flushed is going to be difficult. We will find the right one though and hopefully they will be coming home that day with the crown!

Happy Thursday!

WILW

Today I am linking up with Jamie right here

I am loving that it is Wednesday, which means we are just a couple of days away from the weekend. I will be glad to see Friday afternoon come around bc the girls have had alot more homework this week for some reason.

I'm also loving my church family. That includes the old and new church family that I have. My new church family is showing the meaning of "pray without ceasing" or however that saying goes.

I am loving the thought that Steph is getting her iPod touch Friday afternoon. It's a complete surprise for her because she thinks she isn't getting one until her birthday this summer.

Loving my pinterest finds this week....

Happy Wednesday!!

I am linking up with Carissa here

{bad habbit}
I have got into a bad routine of not posting as much as I used to. Maybe it's because I haven't had as much to talk about. I'm going to try my best to start writting at least a couple of times a week.

{reading frenzy}
Friday I bought a book that I didnt realize ever existed until I came across it online. Most of you know that at one point I was addicted to The Sex and the City series. So when I ran across The Carrie Diaries, I knew that I had to get it. I started reading it Saturday morning and I finished it around midnight. It was wonderful and I can't wait to sink my mind into the next book- Summer and the City.

{over}
Basketball season is FINALLY over for the girls. It was sad to see it end, but glad to see it over. Dallas did great for her first year and Steph learned so much considering we took last year off. Of course, on the last game Steph got to shoot her very first free throw points EVER!! Of course after I realized what happened, I cried just beacuse I was so proud of her. She has a good way to go this next year in order to make the JV team for 7th grade, but I know with her determination, she will accomplish what she sets her mind to.

{report cards}
The girls brought report cards home a couple of weeks ago. Dallas made a 100, a 99, and a 98. Steph made all B's. She was so excited about it that she could barely hold in her excitement. Of course I can't blame her. This was the FIRST time since 2nd grade that she made honor on the first 2 report cards of the year. She has got an amazing teacher who has helped her so much. So, with all the hard work of basketball season and in academics, she will be getting the ipod touch that she has been asking for what seems forever now. They will be getting a pair of TOMS thrown in with their good rewards. For one reason, because I want myself a pair and so do they.

{young authors confrence}
Dallas got to attend the Young Authors Confrence when she was in Kindergarten. So she was okay with not getting to go last year and knew she wasn't going to get asked just because the elementary teachers want to give other students a chance to go. Well, last week Dallas came home and said she got asked to go because another child didn't want to go. That same day, Steph came home saying that she got invited to go as well. This is her first year for her to go. And this child is an AMAZING artist and writter. I'm starting to think that 5th grade is HER year. Now we are praying and hoping that she will get inducted to the Junior National Honor Society. We'll see though.

Happy Monday!
